What to Expect

Dataedo imports automatically:

1. Pipelines
2. Activities (as Jobs within pipelines)
3. Sources of Copy data activity
4. Sinks of Copy data activity as Destinations in Dataedo
5. Column-level lineage for Copy data activity

Supported activity types

Copy Data Activity

Dataedo supports lineage for Copy data activities, including:

• Object-level lineage (source -> activity -> destination)
• Column-level lineage (column mappings from source to destination)

Supported connection types for external lineage

Dataedo Fabric Data Factory connector creates automatic data lineage from source -> activity -> destination. We also support external data source linking for the following connection types:

• SQL Server
• Azure SQL Database
• Azure SQL Managed Instance
• Azure Synapse Analytics (SQL DW)
• Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse (Fabric-native)
• Microsoft Fabric Warehouse (Fabric-native)

For Fabric-native connections (Lakehouse, Warehouse), the linked service is resolved directly from the inline dataset definition without requiring an external connection GUID.

Troubleshooting

Lineage is created based on matched Linked Sources. Check the Dataedo desktop to make sure they are matched properly. You can also update linked source mappings in the Portal Connection details.
