Licenses in Dataedo
Dataedo uses two types of licenses: online licenses and offline licenses. Online licenses are the primary method for managing subscriptions, trials, and educational licenses. Users are required to sign up for a Dataedo Account, and each time the Desktop application is launched, available licenses are checked online. Offline licenses are issued in special cases and can be used without an internet connection. This document covers the management of both online and offline licenses, as well as the conversion of legacy keys.
Online Licenses
Online licenses are managed in the Dataedo Account (an online portal available at account.dataedo.com) and require users to sign up with Desktop to Dataedo Account.

Offline Licenses
In special cases, we issue offline licenses that can be used offline in the form of a license file.
The default way to manage licenses and trials are online licenses, and this should be your first approach.
Requesting an offline license
In exceptional cases, we can issue offline licenses in the form of a license file that can be used with Dataedo Desktop. To gain access to an offline license, you need to request it by contacting our support, and the team must approve it first.
To do this, please contact our support. Please justify why you need an offline license.
If the request is granted, follow these steps to access your offline license.
Accessing offline license file
If your account has access to offline licenses, you will be able to download a license key in the Subscription section of the account in Dataedo Account under Download offline license.

Trial period
If you need an offline trial license, first please take a trial, log into Dataedo Account and use the download option next to your most recent valid trial.
